My baby...

is in a big girl bed!!
She's about to turn 3, she's potty-trained and her crib is in pieces in storage! When did this happen?
At least she still has time for silly old Mom..

Meet Michelle Phelps

While it's not quite warm enough to swim in the unheated big pool, it has been warm enough to heat the jacuzzi and let get her sea legs back.
She's getting braver and braver: plunging herself underwater, touching the bottom and bouncing up to the surface again.

Our cute little alien.

Happy May!

On Mother's Day I got to sleep in all the way to 8am, yay! Drew, Grammy and I had pedicures together at Happy Nail, followed by a nap (even bigger yay), then we topped it off with dinner at Brasserie Pascal in Newport Beach.
In case you couldn't tell, Drew's favorite color is pink. Even though Daddy tries to convince her it is blue.
Notice Mommy getting in for a bite...or two.

Drew quotes

Here are 4 that I was able to quickly scribble down yesterday:

Drew: what's that?
Jeremy: guacamole
Drew: oh, I don't like rock-a-molty

Mommy: what color are you going to paint your toes at your pedicure Sunday?
Drew: pink! you're pink and grammy's pink too!
Mommy: are you Pinkalicious?
Drew: No, I am not Pinkalicious! I am normald.

Drew: I tooted. It's a stinky toot! I stink-tooted!

Drew: Want to see my clever trick? (then she usually does something standing on her head, or attempts to)

**These -isms come firing out of her mouth faster than I can write them down. She probably said all of these in the span of 1 hour. I am starting to feel like a reporter interviewing Chad Ochocinco, trying to scribble down what she says word-for-word.

The 2 worst words out of a potty trainee's mouth (when not wearing a diaper) are

"I'm wee-weeing!"
(or some form)

We are entering into Week 2 of successful potty training. Since I am back at work full-time, I can't take any of the credit, except for maybe not buying diapers or pull-ups when we ran out last weekend.
Texts between my mom and me as of late have looked like this:

Monday, Mom: "after a few hours of wet panties, crying and screaming about not wanting to go poopie in her potty, she finally went after lunch (a rather larger poop) in Boppa's room. So she got her present of dollhouse bedroom furniture. She was very excited and proud of herself after fighting it for 2 hours. I would have taken a picture of the poop in the potty but decided that it would be really gross."
Me: "Yay!"
Tuesday, Mom: "2 poopies in the panties :( Has stayed dry though."
Me: "At least she is wee-weeing."
Thursday, Mom: "dry all day and a poop in the potty."
Me: "Maybe we should go to Soup Plantation to celebrate." (for the record "soup plan-playtion" is Drew's favorite restaurant)
Friday: "Drew just went poop. We are going to friends' house to watch the Laker game."

To date we have only really had 1 and 2 half accidents since last Wednesday. And she is now only wearing nighttime pull-ups for naps and bedtime.
Hallelujah!

Happy Belated Birthday Boppa!

For Boppa's birthday, we ate at The Beachcomber Cafe in Newport Beach. A restaurant on the sand, away from everything but a quiet stretch of PCH and some rental houses on the sand. Very delicious- be sure to order the Ahi Tacos and/or Pizza as appetizers!

San Clemente Fair!

Drew and her best buddy Meghan are finally the age (and height) to ride some rides without adults. As you can tell, they had a blast.

Daddy braved all the scary rides with Drew and Mommy was the photographer.

They cheered and screamed through most of the rides. Their favorite was Alligator Alley:
The girl in the car behind them didn't agree.

Correction

Vikings don't wear bibs.

Thanks to my husband for the correction.

Velkommen!

Our Li'l Norsk, Drew Drewson, from Norway. Grammy and Daddy took her to Scandanavia Days at Cal Lutheran University and to watch her cousins play baseball (Mommy worked).
Quote of the day:
Jeremy: Drew, eat your spaghetti.
Drew: Daddy, Vikings don't eat spaghetti.
Drew and her Great Auntie Nancy doing a dance with the rest of the Norsks, Swedes, Finns and Danes.
Standing along the fjord of the motherland.
Eating spaghetti with Cade, Carson and Cole after a long day of games and lefse.
