San Clemente Fair!

Drew and her best buddy Meghan are finally the age (and height) to ride some rides without adults. As you can tell, they had a blast.

Daddy braved all the scary rides with Drew and Mommy was the photographer.

They cheered and screamed through most of the rides. Their favorite was Alligator Alley:
The girl in the car behind them didn't agree.

Correction

Vikings don't wear bibs.

Thanks to my husband for the correction.

Velkommen!

Our Li'l Norsk, Drew Drewson, from Norway. Grammy and Daddy took her to Scandanavia Days at Cal Lutheran University and to watch her cousins play baseball (Mommy worked).
Quote of the day:
Jeremy: Drew, eat your spaghetti.
Drew: Daddy, Vikings don't eat spaghetti.
Drew and her Great Auntie Nancy doing a dance with the rest of the Norsks, Swedes, Finns and Danes.
Standing along the fjord of the motherland.
Eating spaghetti with Cade, Carson and Cole after a long day of games and lefse.

This morning's conversation:

Drew: Mommy, what's on your face? An owie?
me: Oh, just a little owie, it's ok.
Drew: Ah mom, does it hurt?
me: No, it doesn't hurt.
Drew: Um, where you got it from?
me: I don't know, it just appeared.
Drew: Mom, you have to be careful.

me: Guess what we are doing today? We are going to a carnival!
Drew: What's a carnival?
me: You know what a carnival is, what is it?
Drew: It's a place with special jumpy fings (things)!
me: Yes, and rides and games and lots of kids!
Drew: I don't like kids.

Princess Ballet

Drew began her 8-week Princess Ballet class today at the YMCA. Unfortunately having a new job prevents me from taking her. Grammy and Boppa took her and said she had a great time. They walked on their toes, did some twirls and got to pick out tutus to wear.
The report I got from Grammy and Boppa was that Drew listened to the teacher and was very attentive...for a 2-year-old.

I'm hoping to make it to at least once class to see the princess do her plies and pirouettes.

Drew quotes

Me (talking to Jeremy): I think she is his fiancee or something.
Drew: Mom, it's Beyonce.

Me: Drew, what do you want to do today?
Drew: (with her pointer finger on her chin while looking like she's thinking) Um, probably nothing.

Drew: I wonder who gave me my house?
Me: Um, Grammy and Boppa.
Drew: I wonder who gave me my bathtub?
Me: It came with the house.
Drew: I wonder why the frigelator door is open?

Wondering is big with her these days. I need to start carrying around a notepad and pencil so I can jot these down more quickly.

Easter Weekend...all caught up

Drew and Meghan are catching up and planning strategy for the Easter Egg Hunt at El Niguel.
She was a great Hunter and only stopped a few times to check out what was in her egg instead of checking every single one like last year.
She even had the facepainter paint a cat on her face. The jury's out on how much she actually looks like a cat, but the round cheeks certainly help!
After a great practice-round at El Niguel, Drew's skills were in top form for Easter Sunday's Egg Hunts.
Next year we won't stare directly into the sunlight.
Papa and his Great-Grandkids (except for Sierra) -- it was almost as difficult to get Papa to smile at the camera as it was the kids.
Drew and her Great-Grandpa, who is doing leaps and bounds better after being in the hospital for a week over Thanksgiving. He's almost up to golfing 18 holes again.
Drew and "Cade-y Boy" wrestling and giving each other zerberts. Drew loves playing with The Boys and she even managed to keep up with Cade for most of the day. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Gymnastics Birthday Party

Also last weekend, Drew was invited to a 5-year-old's birthday party at Cal Elite and she had a ball:

Belated Birthday Post

Jeremy's 31st birthday was March 29 (a week and a half ago) and I forgot to post the few pictures I took. We had dinner at Riptide and then came home to eat the 2-layer yellow cake Mom and I made from scratch. As always, Drew is just as excited to celebrate someone else's birthday as she is her own.
Especially when it involves cake. With chocolate.
