This week in Drew's world

I am beginning to lose track of all the things Drew says and does that equally amuses and exhausts me, so I thought I'd write a few down from this week while I remembered.

in the car: "Put on Beyonce. Put on Lady Gaga."

to the babysitter: "I'm a princess and princesses don't go to sleep."

at any time of any day: "Mommy, you're driving me crazy."

while trying to get her to poop on potty: "I am waiting to poopie on the potty for a rainy day."
(By the way Lindsey, it was a no-go on Saturday when it did rain)

while watching US Hockey: "USA! USA! .....where's Teemu?"

And lastly, since we've been potty training she has been wearing panties during the day to practice going on the potty. Yesterday she wet herself while sitting in her highchair eating breakfast (obviously not a good start), so I gave her a bath. Once again, after her bath, she wet herself and as I was carrying her upstairs to change her we had a little talk:

me: "Drew, do you know why we just had a bath? Because you wee-weed in your panties and got all wet."
Drew: "Well, I guess I better have a bath then."

Point goes to the toddler. You can't make this stuff up.

Girls just wanna have fun.

The Husteads came over last night for some dinner and hanging out....and the kids got together to make a huge mess and not eat any of their dinner :) I've said it before: we need to get together with more kids, Drew gets so pumped up when friends come over I feel like we've been imprisoning her.

What is it with kids and this doll? Jeremy and I are slightly afraid of it but all little kids seem to gravitate toward it when they come over.
Drew had a ball with the girls and also got to witness both Maya and Teagen using the big-girl potty, which we're hoping will stick in her brain. As always we had lots of fun with Lindsey and Chad and are continuing our evil plan of convincing them to move closer.

What we did for Valentine's Day

I think all the photos were pretty self-explanatory, except maybe this one. My mom got a package of the world's largest Reese's Peanut Butter Cups from my dad. Thanks to her family, she is down to 1/8 of one left.....speaking of....

Strike a pose, there's nothing to it. Vogue...vogue...vogue.

Grammy took Drew for a photo shoot in December and got these pictures framed to give to Mommy and Daddy at Christmas...best gift ever!

Peyton who?

Our group of 19...it looks like the Colts are going to win.
Baby Lauren is much more fun than football.
Grandpa and Dennis, sitting cozy on the couch.
Drew had had enough after one quarter and decided to watch Olivia and jump off the bed instead.

Rocketship

Drew's new game with Daddy is Rocketship -- she gets in the laundry basket and he twirls her around and makes noises. And since she likes to share, she always gives Daddy a turn.

Watch what you say...

me: Drew, what are you doing?
Drew: just nuffin.
me: what's that I smell?
Drew: I pooped!
me: Drew, when are you going to go on the potty like a big girl? You're killing me!

Yesterday
Drew has been playing too quietly so I go into her room to check on her. She has climbed halfway into her crib.
me: Drew, please don't climb in and out of your crib, it makes Mommy nervous that you're going to fall and hurt yourself.
Drew: You're killing on me, Mommy.

*sigh*

Quite an imagination

We had dinner last night at Chili's and when we sat down Drew told us her "giant ghost friend" (actual phrase used) was going to eat dinner with us. She asked us where he could sit, we told her in the 4th seat (where we had to move our purses and diaper bag). We asked her what his name was, she told us "Alice." And then we had to shake his hand and offer him some of our food and drink.
Her other imaginary friend is Susan from Monsters and Aliens, who is 50 feet tall and requires batteries. Every so often we catch Drew pushing a stool into Boppa's office so she can reach the batteries and put more into Susan's back.

She's found my jewelry box from the 80s.

"My name's Bea,
I drink tea;
Won't you sing
and dance with me?"

10 points for anyone who can name that quote.
